Usui Tradition of Natural Healing
The people we meet, in encounters with powers and the places that we engage in these activities define the nature of all subtle energy exchanges. This lineage is proudly part of The Usui Tradition of Natural Healing. Usui, Hayashi and Takata are our other side camp Grand Masters. Their attendance and the assistance they give at our attunements are beyond exemplary.
Many years ago, when I first mentioned to another Reiki Master that the art was really part of a system of Spiritual Martial Arts they laughed and told me I’d been watching too many Star Wars movies. I was at first perplexed with their response, until I realised they had never encountered the energy of Usui and Hayashi in any direct way. Wow, I felt, how could they attune when they are unaware of spiritual guidance from their lineage? Since then, I quit concerning myself overly about the difficulties of other paths and concentrate more on my own. If people choose to walk with me on The Golden Reiki Way, for a time, then fine.
Consider the nature and training that Usui and Hayashi underwent, simply as part of the ‘Samurai’ class of Japanese gentlemen. Then align that with eastern spirituality and the practice of human energy cultivation akin to Chi Kung. Place that in the context of their time frame and the launch of the Second World War, initiated by similar men and you have a mix that relates as clearly to Star Wars, as does Tolkien to The Lord of The Rings. Both of these are fictional responses to war and the dark possibilities within the human dynamic.

The energy mantle of an Advanced Reiki Master looks so alike as to a samurai helmet, as to be indistinguishable. Now take this knowledge a little further and realise that a protective energetic encounter suit, one would manifest, in order to do the profoundest healing work, looks like a cross between the Elven armour, seen in The Two Towers and a Samurai suit. So we suddenly have a practice akin to the observance of ancient battle forms.
Then comes the vital contribution that Takata brought to this male testosterone loaded spiritual gymnastic competition. Here a diminutive woman, considered a foreigner, intuited that the only way to spread the art, from the restricted class based confines of Japan, would be to hide the warrior like attributes and focus only on the delivery of healing. Takata’s energy can be as gentle as a raindrop, or as forceful as a hurricane.
This image is included because it shows the last minute preparation for my successful Purple & White belt Kung Fu grading. This has significance for how I teach Reiki because the external Chi circulations of high level martial Artists has always been associated with extraordinary healing abilities. For me training in Kung Fu, for the last five years, has utterly transformed my understanding and capacity to achieve results in healing treatments and in the power of my Reiki attunements. My flexibility and stance are much deeper and more stable enabling me to channel currents of energy that would have previously brought me to my knees.
It is now patently obvious to me now, how the dissemination of Reiki through generally physically unfit and energetically untrained people has led to a diffusion of the vast potential. It profoundly matters how your chi circulates around your own personal energy system. This does not mean I expect the people I train to take up martial arts training, as there are ways of attuning that are completely psychic in nature and are expressions of pure mind. However your body is the temple of your indwelling spirit and spiritual work is arduous requiring the installation of spiritual muscle fibres. So each Master will find their own way of gaining breath control and energetic stamina.
Due to an early childhood injury, I was psychologically blocked from and through pain physically unable to participate in sport. Through Reiki this hidden injury finally came to light and I was able to raise a hidden disability to conscious scrutiny. Now I focus on the things I can achieve, rather than being disabled and dissociated from sport because of the fear of exposure of my injury. Finding Kung Fu and its symmetrical association with the cultivation of Chi, through physical growth, has gifted me the confidence to share my deep knowledge and understanding. So if I can overcome those profound disabilities there will also be a way for you to achieve and more importantly come to terms with your life purpose.
To be as helpful as possible, I need to turn to absolute basics. Let us apply the biblical analogy of man as a lamp stand. For instance take a desktop light with a 60-watt bulb, put in a 100-watt bulb and the lampshade may catch fire. Plug it in without a fuse and you may blow the circuits of your house, install it without an Earth and the house may burn down! In other words a desk lamp was built to be just that and safely serves that level of illumination.
If you take the analogy even more directly and understand that the Reiki Sacred Symbols can act just like the light bulb. If connected to a stable system, designed or fully upgraded to safely hold their energy, then they shine. If the individual isn’t properly grounded, Earthed or properly prepared, a Symbol can consume more power than is safe and their energy system shuts down. So you will find many that have gone through a process of ‘mastery’ who cannot hold the master frequency symbol, other than as a simple form of treatment for their client. The client gets a blast of life force, which then gradually dwindles and fades leaving them unable to independently practice.
For the first seven years, after attaining my Reiki Mastery, my work was akin to that of an Accident Emergency consultant.
Reiki of itself cannot do harm, this can be true, but any falsity comes when this statement stands alone without proper explanation - Mastery.
