Reiki can also be a little more like the signals that carry the programs to your Television. Without an aerial you won’t get a picture, without the aerial pointed correctly the picture is unclear and without the set top box you won’t be able to get the digital pictures of the channels you want to watch.
During a Reiki Treatment the Practitioner can act as a booster, to the natural signal you normally receive. So during the treatment your body benefits from a perception of clarity that enables you to see what needs attention, or needs to be repaired (whilst sometimes just allowing the client to do their own repairing with sufficient energy and insight for healing to be lasting).
Sometimes it helps to look at analogies, to help explain something that can be invisible to common sight. Whilst Reiki is not electricity, it can behave a little like that form of energy transmission. You can’t see electricity, yet the Television fails to operate until it is turned on and safely connected. In other words you can see its effect but not necessarily the substance.
If you have already had a prior Reiki Treatment you could have some experience of how the deeper Beyond Reiki Treatments may feel. However if the Practitioner was ungrounded, in their work, then the treatment may simply have felt relaxing, at the time, but instigated no lasting change.
The vast majority of treatments feel simply wonderful. However draining a metaphorical swamp, digging a ditch and purging swamp creatures from the plumbing - via a process involving a ‘Cosmic Dynorod’ is unlikely to initially feel or smell pleasant - this is how come, in some cases, a series of two Practitioner treatments is recommended. With the second Practitioner acting as a back up 'Anasthetist', especially when the client's own choices require them to be awake for a procedure. My advice is to be kind to your self, at all times, but I appreciate that this isn’t always as easy as it sounds.
Just to be clear, some of the most powerful and deeply transformative treatments, do not feel wonderful or completely comfortable, at the time or initially immediatelyafterwards (as the body re-balances itself). It just depends on; what is going on in your life that is putting you out of balance, what level the Practitioner is working at and what level of awareness is required, for the you to personal take responsibility for your own own healing.

Beyond Reiki Treatments can be analogous to any Work of Service that you might have on your house or mode of transportation (car, bicycle etc.) It can be about cleaning out the plumbing, securing the foundations to your home, putting on a new roof, installing new double glazing or applying insulation. Having the electric rewired or installing new computer facilities are relatively common examples of what we may have done and so equally commonly may need Reiki attention within our selves, if we are to change our own health condition. Just compare the Dry Cleaning bill for a suit of clothes to the charges for a car’s major service and you have an idea of the range of possible work.
All illness can be viewed as genetic or environmentally acquired. How the combination of our inherited life circumstances, meets with our bodily ability to cope with the life style we each lead, brings us all to our own particular state of equilibrium. How we balance our life, with our potential abilities and how we express that condition of self is a reflection of all that we are. It can be changed and the dis-equilibrium of disease can be used as a guide to that change. Often however our own inertia and inability to see the maintaining behaviours that generate illness, requires a third-party intervention. In this lies the true power of Reiki, to allow for and enable a period of transformation.
Human beings are far more complicated in their social and societal interactions than can often be explained, but there are often very simple energetic reasons for an individual’s experience of life. The core questions that have to be asked are Who, What, Where, When and How come? The answers to these determine the treatment and course of action. Some people require many treatments, at many levels of their being to sort out their relationships, to the generally organised or disorganised chaos of today’s world.

Reiki attunement is a special kind of Reiki Treatment. Delivering a Reiki Treatment for friends and family is a special kind of act of service, that allows us to heal through serving others. Professional Reiki Practice allows us to deliver treatments that will improve the condition of our fellow beings and so this too is an Act of Service.
All of the healing arts benefit, in quality and depth of expression, when their exponents are blessed by a Reiki connection. Yet there is more to Reiki than simply being an aspect of the art of healing. Indeed the healing arts are but a strand, or mere part, of the weave that is this aspect of the Red Reiki Wave of energy. The process of acting on the stage, sitting in judgement of a Court case or simply walking down the street are all altered, in effect, when one is properly attuned. The attunement to this energy, Foundation First Degree Reiki , allows us to give Reiki Treatments for friends and family and Journeyman Second Degree Reiki confers the conditions appropriate to Professional Reiki Practice.
Highly skilled Professional Practitioners can repair the subtle energy anatomy of our meridians and the highest practitioners are able to install a new human energy converter (Chakra). Your auric field generators or your psychic antennae may need repair, replacement and realignment. The inner plumbing may need attention, or your habitual self-destructive behaviours might need to be challenged. There may be rot, or decay, in any system, or you may simply have worn your self down into the ground. Proper safe responses could have been traumatised, or controlled out of your experience, or your internal panic switch so depressed as to be dysfunctional. Or more prosaically, you might just have picked up a nasty bug, which you can’t seem to shake of. Any of these conditions can be met and instruction received on how to extricate from these situations, but you must be open to hear the solution or intervention required.
